After 32 years as a Firefighter and looking for his retirement bike, James from Australia reached out to us asking if we “...could build a Roure with a slightly more MTB geometry but still with a more upright relaxed position. A bikepacking bike that I could take on the great divide trail in the US or do the Hunt 1000 here in Australia which is through our high mountain plateau areas and has everything from single track, corrugated dirt track, hard Forrest trails and tarmac...”.
He basically wanted a do-it-all adventure bike, something the Nua Roure, our ATB (All Terrain Bike) is a specialist in. It is curious how after many years in which the big bicycle brands have been creating more and more categories and specialized bicycles (with the evident aim of selling more bikes), people are looking back to the origins, increasingly looking for this type of bicycle capable of everything, typical of the 80s, although with the technology of our era.
James wanted his Roure with 27,5” wheels and 2.8” tires (the bike fits up to 3" tho...), but he also ordered from us a 29er second, making the bike even more versatile.
A set of custom racks was a need, along with the usual tailored geometry to meet his needs and fit his body.
We hope you liked this Nua as much as we did building it. Until next time!
