INTEGRATED DROPBAR SHIFTERS FOR PINION GEARBOX

Updated: May 29

As many of you may already know, Pinion has never offered dropbar shifters.

This has been a handicap, since many of you want your gravel bike with Pinion, shifting gears from the hoods as with a conventional derailleur and chain system.

We are very happy to announce that from now on, your new Silica or Terra can be ordered with the new Hibox converting box, and a pair of Sram Force 22 integrated brake shifters from which you can smoothly up and down speeds of your Pinion with total reliability.

The system is designed for the Pinion C12 gearbox, so if you wanted to install a P18, it is not possible at the moment.

The shifting cable converter box Hibox is a simple but ingenious mechanism that converts the independent movement of the 2 shifting cables into the rotary movement required by the gearbox:

Since the indexing system is integrated into the gearbox, it is necessary to remove the Sram levers own indexing system. This makes them even more reliable and long-lasting, since all those small plastic parts cease to exist.

We have been using a similar system on our Rohloff rear internal gear hub gravel bikes for almost 10 years without any problems, in this case with a Gebla Rohbox cable converter box instead of the Hibox.

So yes! finally we can fulfill our dream and build bikes like this wild dropbar Nua Terra Pinion bike, with 3" Plus knobbt MTB tires, and shift from the hoods like on your road bike:
